Galle is a must visit for each tourist that comes to Sri Lanka. Galle is the fourth largest city in Sri Lanka and the capital of the Galle District. The Galle Fort is one of the major tourist attractions in the island as it is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by the Europeans. This also led it to being declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Galle Fort is a must see for foreigners and locals alike if they visit. The Galle Fort gives visitors the feeling as if they have been transported through time. Most of the buildings in the Fort are built according to the Dutch style when they built it initially in 1663. Even the British did not change it much when they took over in 1796.
